Your Next Must Have....

The Hot Pink Perspective
By: ‘The Fashion Massiah’

It’s hard to pick just one favorite dress, jacket or flirty print for spring, as it’s my favorite season to dress. However, one of my favorite up-coming trends for 2011 includes the indulgence in a fine coat. A great tip for buying wardrobe essentials is to be aware of the function of the garment. For instance, it’s better to buy a piece that can be worked in and out of your current base of clothing, while exaggerating your look with a creative piece that will last throughout many seasons. One piece in which I think my fashionistas should invest is the A-line-shape coat in a bright, cheeky color. Win major cuteness points with this look, while showing off your best leg-essentials. This coat can be worn with bare, and still turn every head on the street. If you’re a petite, this hem line will elongate one’s body creating a leaner sleeker, taller appeal. Check out Hot Pink style for our take on the spring vintage coat.

"The Skinny" on our Fave Fashionable Cocktail

The Hot Pink Perspective
By: ‘The Fashion Massiah’

Part of my duty as a blogger, is to present to my readers, or as I lovingly call you, my fashionista’s, the best products on the market for which spending your hard earned dollars is necessary. From fur bangles to the recovery of bell bottoms; I scan the market for every must have item, of which I cannot survive without, and present them to my blogger family in hopes that it enhances your life in the same manner that it has mine.

Although fashion un-related my new favorite product, of which I’m proud to share, is the new bottled recipe of Skinnygirl Margarita by Bethenny Frankel. It was just a few years ago that I was carelessly filling my body with thoughtless margaritas. I would order one after another, completely oblivious to the fact that in one serving I had consumed over 700 calories. Shocked? Everyone should be! Subsequently, after a night out with Fajitas, and Tequila, I would migrate home, crawl into bed while groaning; hating myself for what I had done to my body. The next day is the worst, when “the bloatia,” the act of feeling bloated or inflated as though a Macy’s Thanksgiving parade balloon sets in and I’ve suddenly become 8 months pregnant with a margarita child I certainly didn’t plan on putting through college.

Well now it’s finally over. I can enjoy my Taco Tuesday and not have to feel guilty for what I’ve done. Thanks in part to Skinnygirl Margarita, which not only offers a little over 100 calories per margarita, but for being a product a fashionista can trust. With the freshest, no-filler recipe; one doesn’t have to ponder the “mystery meat” that is our late night cocktail.  The days of “the bloatia” are banished far into the days of yore, and the future looks guilt-free.

Check out Hot Pink Style for our upcoming newly sponsored Skinnygirl Margarita events, and remember to drink responsibly in every sense of the word.

Capri-Me?

The Hot Pink Perspective
By: ‘The Fashion Massiah’

The 2011 spring trends are sweeping the market with a re-visit of what I like to call “oldies, but goodies.” This refers to the season’s inclusion of re-tailored versions of some pieces to which we probably would not have given a second look. One item that certainly has the potential to spark the new “skinny jean” craze is the cropped fitted Capri. With the ability to melt any fashionista’s Givenchy gold heart, the cropped pant offers a plethora of styling options that can cater to any style tribe. Thankfully this garment could not have entered the market at a better time, as the humidity readings for our Florida weather begins to creep into the lower hundreds. I say, why not give your sexy calves some room to breathe while showing off a new and exciting trend. Available in an assortment of patterns, colors and even textures, the Capri will mix seamlessly into your working wardrobe for the better, while adding an unforeseen flare to both your day and evening attire. Trust me; it’s not your typical soccer mom’s pant. Check out Hot Pink Style’s wardrobe mix of Capri madness, for the summer’s best goody trend.

Skirting Around the Issue

The Hot Pink Perspective
By: ‘The Fashion Massiah’

Does anyone remember the ole' high school days, when girls were only allowed to wear skirts no shorter than edge of their finger tips to class? Well I would like to make that an official lifelong fashion rule. Over the weekend, I was invited to a very popular night club downtown, and to my surprise, despite being in the VIP suite, there seemed to be an abundance of girls parading around in t-shirts as cocktail dresses. Did I miss the memo? Is this the new trend in cocktail attire, because I seemed to have missed that style tip in this month’s WWD issue. I actually witnessed one girl raising her arms in effort to wave to her friend from across the bar, and in doing so her dressed rose up three inches subsequently inviting the entire night club to get a look-see at her latest bikini wax. I'd like to believe that I'm not a prudent person, however I was in a crowd that was showing me a whole new meaning of the phrase; throw caution into the wind. Do yourselves a solid, fashionista’s, and remember that there is a level of appropriate style of dress in every situation, and unless you're working as a late night exotic dancer, and it’s your turn to present your routine to prospective clients; be sure that your outfit for a night out includes some underpants and a skirt that doesn't ride up to your shoulders when you raise your arm to hail the taxi for the ride home.
